Com Truise - Wave 1

so Ghostly fucked up my order and my friend's order, we paid for 2 day shipping and neither disc showed up on time, mine won't be delivered til next week after the release date. So their piss poor customer service response was basically "we got your money now fuck off its not our responsibility, take it up with the post office". Wtf? Great attitude for an independent label. I would be wary buying directly from them after this debacle.

yeah I got my shipping confirmation on 13th Feb, which is very disappointing considering that Boomkat had this available (the black version though) a few days before.

Gotta say - won't be ordering direct from Ghostly again.

i've seen my usual USA retailer (am in UK) for music listing this at $12 for the vinyl, $7 for shipping. so if the official store is expensive, plenty other places, i'm guessing. another pet hate of mine > no CD of this release. why be selective about which format(s) from one release to the next?

it's not an issue with the cost (although I do think it was a bit of a dick move to price the purple version higher than the regular version, considering they're both limited edition)

The issue is that other retailers had the vinyl available to purchase and have delivered before Ghostly themselves even despatched the records.

Ok, I ordered from England and they're in the US, so it will take a while to get here, but for them to despatch records after other retailers are selling them is rather shitty, and something I would expect from Blerp.

this arrived today, and Ghostly have kind of redeemed themselves by packing this in a decent mailer which has survived the trip over to England. They're using the same mailers that Blerp use only for their international orders.

edit: just finished listening to this. It's a good EP, and there's a definite progression from his Galactic Melt release, but it's not really my bag I suppose. Maybe it's just a bit too upbeat, whereas at the moment I'm wanting stuff that is a bit darker? I dunno. I'll give it another try another time.

Com Truise is playing here on the 4th. Definitely want to check it out.

ex-guitarist for neon indian is opening with his new "disco" album so I want to see what that is about as well.
