I was going to post PBO, he is a class-act. I still scratch my head as to why he seemingly called it quits in 2003.

Yeah, pity. He's fantastic, real potential. There's some other old stuff of his released under Ko-Wreck Technique, but I haven't heard it yet.

Yeah definitely check out the Ko-Wreck material. Only 2 EPs as far as I know and the first one has this fantastic Plaid remix:

The PBO side project I still have yet to hear is Guineo. Anyone heard this? Is it worth tracking down:

Does this count ? One of my favourite tracks he's done ...

This is the very track that introduced me to Brothomstates on Warp's home page in 2001. It took me some time later to discover that Lassi Nikko used samples from The Pharcyde's "Passin' Me By" in this trac.

The previous posts in this thread include stuff I considered posting but saw that's already been posted, especially that MF Doom/MF Grimm piece Josh posted. Good calls on PBO as well.

To keep it real and analog, I'm gonna start posting to WATMM by writing my posts in fountain pen on hemp paper, putting them in bottles, and throwing them into the ocean.

I'm hardly a closed minded nun. Remember, I'm on a fucking IDM forum.... an IDM forum.. Think about that for a second before claiming people are closed minded nuns.

the guineo ep is great, some of my favorite music by Edgar. Platanos and Platanos(pbo remix) are serious jams. Back in the day some people thought it was a real chick, funny alias. Saw Edgar a few years ago, sketchy as ever.

Ha, awesome! Not that low-profile after all apparently. I'm a noob when it comes to German rap and hip hop, and he didn't tell me much about it either.

Now that I compare the two tracks, I'm not even a hundred percent sure this is the same sample PBO used, maybe they just sound very similar. But my cousin swears it is, and it's not as unlikely for PBO to have that release as I thought.

Who's your cousin? Phillip? Till?

Nope, it looks like he's not mentioned on the sleeve at all. I don't know how big his role was. I think he said he mastered the track, and I know he used to make beats at a studio built in some bunker in Witten. But I don't know whether he actually made the beat for this track, maybe his role on this release was actually just a small one or he only assisted or something. Then again, the sleeve doesn't mention any producer as far as I can see. Maybe they just didn't think it was noteworthy who produced the track. I'll ask him again, this has gotten me curious.
