One time in school we all went on a field trip to some marine biologists' boat in Boston and we were out on the water, having this sorta hippie woman who had definitely been at sea for a while explain to us the ins and outs of studying marine life and whatnot. She caught a skate, which is basically a mini stingray.As she's holding it up for all of us to see, her thumb is firmly right up this poor animal's butt. We're all giggling but afraid to say anything out loud about the hippie woman's violation of this weird marine creature. Anyway, I learned nothing from this life experience, and I can safely say that there wasn't anything IDM about it whatsoever.
