so dude who pays for my internet got 4 emails saying there was illegal downloading going on. waht part is illegal? my roomate said he was downloading games from pirate bay so i guess it was that because i only download the odd movie not often...

is torrenting really illegal, hax0r, i dunno. enlighten me.

It would likely be the films that you got the cease and desist notices for. The emails would state what infringing content was downloaded. It is the ISP that passes on the notice from the company that owns the content borrowed.

Also, the rules on this site state that we don't encourage or support illegal downloading or permissive conversations on such. Bear that in mind before this thread gets closed.

and yeah it's illegal but that's with a pretty tiny i. it's not like, Illegal. just the kind of thing you could theoretically get sued for, but most likely won't.
