Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

thanks for the tip, thats helpin me out with tons of different types of weapons.armor configs.

im lvl 13 now just trying to finish the Dark Brotherhood quests and just started the Thieves Guild quests....they arent very fun though...im thinking it should have been done in reverse.

is there a monks guild? maybe a temple somewhere? Any teachers of general monkery? Its kind of hard to fight with just hand-to-hand, sometimes it doesnt even damage some doods

u crazy? thief quest and dark brotherhood quests are the best part of the game. I liked murdering all the scooma addicts.

Found a good tip about that horse; you can knock it unconscious and store stuff in it.

nonono, i love LOVE the brotherhood quests....the theivery ones are just boring right now, you just talk to a ton of people before you get into the dungeon crawls.

Oh.  I meant heavy weapons or items.

Damn, this hole's just gonna get deeper . . . anyway, that horse doesn't die, so if you "kill" it, it just goes unconscious, you can search the body and deposit things on it to carry things.  I don't know how it affects it's speed or agility, though.

which point was that?

i thought mass effect was great, but it really needed to be a lot bigger. all the planets were essentially the same level with the same structures. no cities, no space stations, no variety. and you couldn't even go to earth? wtf was that about? other than that though, it was a pretty solid game. except the elevators. you can travel across the galaxy in 2 seconds, but it takes 2 full minutes to descend one level in an elevator? bullshiiiiiiiit.

so i started continuing my game because of this thread. had to load a previous save, but it wasn't that bad. it's been so long since i've played that it was probably for the best that i had to redo some shit.

these load screens are ridiculous though. fallout wasn't nearly as big/deep as this game is, but it functioned a lot better. i wish they'd just update old games when they made improvements to the engine. i'd love to play morrowind with the updated engine.

We started a new game, and this character is already a Master in Sneak, and a Journeyman of Acrobatics, but her Athletics fucking suck, because all she does is fast travel. So now we've been running circles around the Imperial City Market District casting Shield on ourself until we run out of magic, jumping until we're fatigued, then waiting an hour if the magic or fatigue don't recover fast enough.

The Imperial Watch thinks we're fucking crazy.

I think so, but it isn't as good as Kotor 1. You can't compare it with sandbox games really, but it has a decent sci fi storyline, the score is pretty good, the pacing is well done. Only problem I had with the game was the AI, battle sequences can be a pain sometimes.. but otherwise I enjoyed it. if you are a fan of Bioware, I think it is worth playing.

That the driving is boring and every savegames take you back to the last checkpoint.

I miss Oblivion.

The new DLC for Fallout 3 "The Pitt" has an arena fighting quest, very similar to the arenas in Oblivion, it brought me back.

most definitely. i spent so much time in this game's inventory screen it's ridiculous. not only that, you get to do it for like, 5 or 6 characters (you have the option of leveling up your teammates to your own specifications as well...or you can set it to auto upgrade if you can't be bothered).

i just started oblivion for the first time tonite. loved fallout3 so i figured i'd give this 1 a shot. took me about 2hrs to make a character that wasnt completely ugly (playin on 360, so no mods). did a few quests in the imperial city place, do they eventually get more involved like the ones in fallout 3?

in general they are more involved that the quests in Fallout 3. The Dark Brotherhood and Thieve's Guild quests are both long and involved. Quite a few other good ones as well.

oh ok, cool. the ones i did so far were helping some merchant dude when he was buying clothes from a guy who was stealing them off corpses, and some fights at the arena. havn't even explored much outside yet. the combat seems kind of clunky without something like vats though

So far my favourite mission was when you had to fall asleep and rescue someone in this surreal dream world. I lost my save when my PS3 died about 6 months ago so I'm gonna start playing this from scratch sometime soon.

its fun till about half way and then the complete and utter pointlessness of it sinks in.

i've played through alll the guilds except for mage's but finally beat the main storyline last night..short but enjoyed everything after having to close all the gates lol

i got morrowind on steam but want to wait till someone patches the graphic extender mod so i can have infinite view distance!

Morrowind is superior to Oblivion in almost all respects except for physics and combat

yeah i just started and some fucking wizard dropped out of the sky...hooked now lol

took me awhile to realize it was more rpg based and not all my attacks would work against the monsters
