I find it a bit too unsubtle.

I dunno guys. not getting into this album at all. Was never a fanboy but I liked Endless Summer and Venice alot. Saw him play live a few years back and was a bit bored. The new album has everything you might want but I dunno just leaves me a bit cold.

i'm also not feeling this at all.

yeah I must admit it sounds really, really, really improvised. not that good :(

gave this another listen today and its sounding much better. a grower perhaps.

I don't really understand your "improvised" complaint. Endless Summer is just as loop based. I think the only track that was really improvised on this new one is Liminality. Everything flows naturally; it's not disjointed. It's nothing like a jazz record, for instance.
