Yeah this album has been really doing it for me over the last couple of weeks. It's always a bit of a rarity hearing a cohesive drum & bass album with consistent quality control, especially these days.

It's quite fun playing 'spot the sample', there's a number of photek tracks, also source direct, some moving shadow, and other stuff that sounds familiar but I can't quite place. It's a bit of a different approach sampling them directly - whereas the 1st gen jungle guys were all sampling the incredible bongo band and the winstons etc, this guy is actually sampling the samplers.

Is there any other similar d&b out at the moment? Most other recent stuff I've heard has been pretty dull two-step but if there's any tracks out there more like this I'd be interested to give it a listen.

I haven't heard this album yet, but special request - soul music was a pretty good d 'n' b album from last year. definitely not dull two-step.
