I mostly just chill on 3 min and try to care as little as possible. Around 2002 or so was my general peak, because all I used to play was over the board, with games in the 30~60+ minute range. My brain melts from intensity with any serious games nowadays.

I play a few games on lichess every now and then, mostly in the 5-10 minute range.

i play on lichess (terribly) out of some masochistic urge, pm me if anyone wants a idm game or two

not a particularly enthralling match (opponent made a lot of mistakes), but im glad that i can see him making it and immediately bite down on it. also getting better at seeing 2 or 3 moves ahead in general. it's a weird moment when i realized this: that the ability to see ahead is positively and constantly available in my mind whilst playing chess

seeing moves ahead is in core of chess. chess is a beautiful game, good for brain development. it should be taught in every school imo.

that was hilarious ... when I've played with my friends the first moves in 99% of the games are always symmetrical King Pawn advancements, so when I recognized "Sicilian Defence" I thought, shit, guy's a pro and I expected the "bad play" being baffling "positional errors" around 20's or 30's move ...
