There was a cylob forum and Joyrex had an RSS feed going. A drunken Cyblorb decided that he would write a drunken message to watmm on his website and let it go through the RSS feed.

 

Something about Joyrex should make his own web content. apparently didn't like the rss feed =(

There was no joke intended - I was just amused at someone asking for a cylob subforum after what happened.

I don't think he was drunk - I got some sober(ing) emails from him during the whole fracass making it very clear he thought WATMM's populace was homophobic and hateful. Additionally, he thought that by us using his RSS feed to put content into his subforum was tantamount to stealing (think or look up what RSS is and what it's for), so we honoured his request and removed his subforum and shunted all the threads into Music Discussion.

Yes sorry, it's not really a fact that he was drunk you're right. For some reason I just always got the impression that he was... Maybe it was how quick he deleted the content from his page (almost like a drunken mistake?)

I really wish he realized that it was simply funneling more people to his content that might not otherwise know he exists. I'll be honest I didn't know of him until I got here to WATMM, case in point!

Who knows - some people act more sane and stable while drunk - hard to tell via email, really.

The whole reason I added the Cylob subforum was to give his music the respect it deserved - the RSS feed of what he was up to on his website was a logical extension of that. Anyways, it's water under the bridge now.

go back to '04. no subforums. all music discussion in one place - simple, effective, and i don't miss interesting threads in subforums i hardly look at... which is most of them.

but this isn't going to happen, so i like the label subforum idea more - if Rephlex, why not Warp, Skam, Mu?

also, scrap the football subforum. nothing happens in there, and i can't imagine most users would object to the 3 threads that get any action being in GenBan.

Raster noton subforum would be nice. Good load of releases, lots to talk about, quality stuff.

If Snares gets a subforum return I will be injecting my love juice in there many times a day.

however this would mean shifting the focus of the board away from the core set of artists it was built around and into a general music discussion forum. which I have no problem with! but some others might.

i'd totally go for one big music forum, but when ae themselves praised the existence of their subforum there's just no way of turning back.

can this thread be merged with the other one?

It would be too confusing.

Also, the footy forum should stay, just so i never have to know or care that discussion of this type occurs.
