Canadian Electronic Music (IDM etc)

If you wanna go back to the mid 20th century when electronic music was still strictly academic there was a Canadian guy named Hugh Le Caine who was an important figurehead in that scene. He invented some cool shit like the 'Electronic Sackbut' which is a precursor to the Moog Synthesizer. He also made this track out of the sound of a single drop of water:
