joshuatxuk
I buy cassette tapes, often with a digital download included. Tapes are a lot cheaper, can be a lot longer (up to 45 minutes per side) and can pretty sound good if duplicated right. While it's a niche consumer based compared to vinyl tape fans are a lot more inclined to experimental and avant-garde music: ambient, noise, drone, etc. I've seen far more modular synth and improvised electronic music on tape labels than any other physical format. CDs/CD-r's with really neat digipak artwork (i.e. not basic jewel cases) are cool, but overall a bit redundant if you're also offering lossless downloads. calx
I'm back into buying CDs recently but it's only because I've just got a decent player about 6 months ago. I probably buy as much - maybe a bit less downloads. I've also had a few computers break on me so I like to have the physical copy, if I look about enough I can usually get one cheaper than a download. d2ba
Suggest 100 x 12" at 535GDP http://curvedpressings.com/100x10inch-12inch-black-labels/ Thats not too huge a risk--about the price of a mono synth This is a big step up from being a bedroom producer so if you believe in your music no excuse not to go this route!!! There are probably a few here on WATMM that could be the next generation of WATMM featured artists but we will never know unless you get physical product out there. Example: one of my most recent vinyl purchases was Merzbow's Frog (note I already own this as the expanded 2CD version). Pics in spoiler. Reveal hidden contents looks like a nice stoughton jacket pressing, the UV black and gatefold style of pressing it that way is quite pricey though compared to a standard jacket with color printing Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide awepittance's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/83033-pressing-records/page/2/#findComment-2157307 Share on other sites
