The Flashbulb - Nothing Is Real

From the Alphabasic preorder released page:

Nothing Is Real, written and recorded between early 2012 and 2014, is described by Benn Jordan as a "homage, or soundtrack to chronic derealization and depersonalization disorder". Musically, it is a diverse, yet continuously flowing album, often featuring vintage synthesizers blending with airy atmospheres and complete orchestral movements (performed entirely by Jordan through large multitrack sessions). The focus on articulate, dynamic, and often unpredictable melodic composition fills every pocket of this album, yet never moves too far away from the personal composition style that fans of The Flashbulb have grown to expect.

Sick Times

I know BOC weren't the first to come up with the term "Nothing is Real", but for Benn (wtf is up with the extra "n"?) to use it relatively close to when BOC did... not that original. Then again, these tracks were composed between 2012 and 2014, so perhaps the album title came before BOC using it. Probably not though.

At least he uses real instruments instead of all that bleep bloop stuff.

This is the main reason why I like Benn, yes with two N, output and not only his work as the Flashbulb...

I think he gets a lot of (unwarranted) hate on here, but that's probably partially of jealously, and partially due to some seeing his music as too derivative.

I immediately thought of the Infected Mushroom slammer from 2000.

I think the core of discontent was more towards his fans being very fanatic in the original sense of the word when a lot of producers felt he was just copying the RDJ album. And his vain attempts to defending himself from the criticism just turned into an open door to bullying. I'm basing this on events from almost 15 years ago, but from what I can tell things haven't changed much.
