I lold how after those two WWF exposes were posted, one exposing WWF as a sham that works to give palm oil plantations an environmental halo, then immediately following these posts, two members posted in support of funding WWF with the charity money. I hope that they were just being ironic, i really do.

It's hard to pick a just cause especially when there's also so many so called first world countries where people are in dire need for help and or education.

You really need to stop perpetuating this myth that Rephlex themselves were selling the record - I think you're giving them a lot more credit than they deserve thinking that they planned this all out and anticipated someone would start a Kickstarter to raise money for the record, resulting in an almost 10-fold increase in the amount they would get.

if the majority of these global charity organizations are as tainted as they're seemingly being illustrated, then shouldn't we, as a community, either create our own small-scale nfp charity to avoid the pitfalls of these other groups or, at the very least donate to an individual rather than, for lack of a better word, a company?

Unfortunately that would require more work than the entire Kickstarter campaign was to begin with - I'm sure none of the candidate charities are perfect in how their funds are used, but every little bit helps - even if a little bit is all that actually does help.
