What do you mean by Footwork?

A Hip-Hop beat that is percussion heavy. Layers upon layers of percussion samples. I guess...

There's also this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Footwork_(Chicago)

Based on a few youtube videos of Chicago Footwork music I just saw, I don't think it's layers up layers of percussion. Just sound like a single layer of percussion, rather fast beat (sounds like Allegro Vivacissimo), and black kids dancing fast footsteps to the music. A lot of repetition in the beats and lack of melody. I'd say that's the style?

Still single layer of percussion, simple melody (ok sure there is melody), sounds like R&B. meh, sounds like most modern music anyways. Like I don't even know why people create all these different genres for music that sound the same. Dubstep is all about that specific beat pattern. I really liked back in the days there weren't all these genres, maybe they had. I don't know. But they are simply called classical music.

Fucking hell, I think there is more variety in classical music than all modern genres combined.

Footwork is fun in small doses, though.

160bpm

+ cliched-for-decades 808 samples (texturally unaltered)

+ goofy chopped up samples of black guy

congrats you are riding the musical zeitgeist. don't forget to put "RIP Rashad" somewhere in the track description.

Don't worry, the theme for the next one will be Intelligent Dance Music with zany breakbeats and sad white key melodies.

Everyone gets a chance to have fun.
