imo laughing at people that are racist on an individual level is probably the best way to deal with it.

i dunno, if you don't think racism is a problem, i guess you don't believe the scientific papers that show that stereotypes influence achievement negatively in all people. it's fucking stupid to purposely limit the achievement potential of people, unless you think that will take power away from you.

by trivializing fame, it's the best way to deal with that too, so people can move on to more important concerns. if people stopped equating fame with getting out of the shitty position their life is in they'd have to do something about it and improve their immediate surroundings. instead people live in hope that the almighty powers from above deem them worthy of fame.

fame is a shitty system of "rewarding" artistic people and fucks them as often as it helps them. it's like if 1/2 of lottery winners were voted on democratically, with all the shenanigans that entails and the other half were chosen randomly. of those that win, 1/4 will be stalked by idiots. 1/4 will get fucked up by being able to do so much, without preparation in advance.1/4 will become boring. (none of this mutually exclusive :) ) it's a stupid method to produce good arts and it only seems semi successful because people are pretty kick ass so we make it work despite all that.

I also feel that we should not be offended by physical pain.
