lala
another dangerous thread. tonight, i may invent the 'whiskylinium united' which will start as a simple 2-1-1/2 using laphroiag, lemon, sugar syrup. i will experiment with using honey as suggested by the penicillin. also stones ginger wine will be waiting in the wings 'just in case' im going to put 'drink a pint of water' as a sig to remind myself so as not to get so hung over. edit* there. hopefully that will work Edited August 23, 2014 by lala Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide lala's signature Hide all signatures Beethoven, ages ago, said: To play a wrong note is insignificant. MisterE
i used to drink jack daniels black label a lot when i was younger. once i drank a whole 5th in a few hours (along with some beers) and ran out of smokes and like my brain thought that anything shaped vaguely like a cig could also be smoked as one... so i was trying to smoke my car keys and couldnt understand why they wouldnt work. outside of that i was still kinda sane somehow.. talked to a cop and he didnt suspect anything only few times i tried scotch i thought it tasted nasty/vomitous, even back then. now i hate any kind of whiskey or anything with that barrel aged thing going on, that flavor from that grosses me out. i drink gin now and not nearly as stupidly, just a drink (gin+tonic or martini) before going to beers, and i dont get anywhere near as drunk as i did back then (even tho i mix pretty stiff drinks). plus i think soda/pop like coke messes with my stomach so that kinda makes drinking whiskey a bit more problematic even if i wanted to i might get into whiskey again some day, for the flavor, if i find one i like. been thinking about clear rye types.. also thinking about getting into tequila Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/84605-drinking-scotch-like-a-man/page/2/#findComment-2206288 Share on other sites
lala
no.3 is a nice gin: its a lot smoother than gordons. make a martini out of that one and its easy to get into stupor-land thats another problem, the smoking thing. i always want a fag when im drinking,. im back on e-cigs but they give me a kinda headache which isnt cool... nicotine overload. im guessing theres something in normal tobacco that nulls out the nicotine headaches, that sorta anaesthetic-y thing that happens when it hits you. talking about drinks my favourite is the caiprinhia. the mixture of sour hitting you first then the sweetness of the sugar mellowing it out is addictive. i make a mean one of those too Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide lala's signature Hide all signatures Beethoven, ages ago, said: To play a wrong note is insignificant. Guest A/D
Yep, Laphroiag with a splash of water for me, or Talisker if I can't find it. I rarely drink these days, but a good Scotch is incredibly satisfying. The peaty dry stuff is my favorite. So much better than sweet syrupy bourbon or whisky. I may well have a sip tonight, thanks thread. Bob Dylan
You buy this : You poor it into this type of glass : You don't put a fucking rock or an ice into it. Never do that. Instead, you poor perhaps 1:10 ratio of water at room temperature. A few drops, nothing more. Not all Scotch need that, but something like Lagavulin or any Islay-type needs that. Turn that shit inside the Glencairn. Put your nose deep into it and smell. Drink a little, let it poor inside your mouth. Swallow it and enjoy that deep, intense burn that lasts forever it seems. Repeat until drunk. Bob Dylan
Some might say Laga doesn't need water, but I still think that 2-3 droplets is good for it. I would say that Cast Strengths would also naturally benefit such thing, but again never more than 1:5 in ratio, more rationally do it 1:10. Get a water pipette, something like this which is great : Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Bob Dylan's signature Hide all signatures *** This announcement is brought to you by the Shimago-Dominguez Corporation *** helping America into the New World... dr lopez
what philip said. i've got a nice bottle of glenmoragie that a friend gave me - the burn is hard at first but i usually get into after the first couple sips. it also helps if there is a dampness outside that affronts the soul. When I first went to scotland i suddenly realized why scotch is called scotch - its a necessary abatement to the dampness and cold Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide dr lopez's signature Hide all signatures On 11/24/2015 at 12:29 PM, Salvatorin said: I feel there is a baobab tree growing out of my head, its leaves stretch up to the heavens Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/84605-drinking-scotch-like-a-man/page/2/#findComment-2206857 Share on other sites

Depends. 4 is pretty reasonable but you could take more if you wanted. I buy bottles of it, but it comes in capsules. Good to take when you've been treating your body less than ideally. You can also take one or two as you are drinking every couple of hours. I've been taking it at night after drinking and then in the morning when I wake up. Seems to work rather well.
