It's nothing to do with his music btw. I can just only handle so much analog fuckery and there are so many artists doing it. This and his flektro ep have definitely changed my mind though. =)

These last few releases are awesome . Will check out vol one.

When I first heard Welcome I was on the bandwagon suspecting it was Rich, but turns out Dave is super talented in his own way. This EP is really tight, I might just have to get the digital version on top of the record I ordered (Or contact Dave as others have said).

i'm loving everything i've heard from this so far. fingers crossed they still have stock left for me to purchase on payday.

Is it just me, or is this material samey as hell? I can't tell any of these tracks from each other, or half the tracks on Welcome for that matter. His development from the Rephlex 12" to Welcome to the Photodementia stuff was just phenomenal, but now I feel he's been rehashing the same ideas for quite a while. Maybe I was just expecting too much, it's still good/decent.

I kinda don't agree. Volume 1 through to welcome had a slightly different tone or timbre or something, PD i thought was kinda the weakest stuff. Time sounds different again in recording quality or something, each release seems just have something different for me. Each to their own aint it. Plus not to mention most of the tracks seem to be quite old, seeing them on soundcloud, youtube, live sets etc

Yeah, this material might be older. Also, I agree there is a different tone. But I think the difference is pretty superficial, mainly just the less slick mix and the emphasis on break beats. Compositionally and arrangement wise it's the same "melodic" bass lines doing the same cadences, and the same detuned pads

entering at the same place in the bar, etc.

Edit: Anyways, I bought the 12" and will give a few thorough spins. Maybe I'll change my mind.

yeah i always found Welcome to be kind of sluggish and boring compared to Volume One and the other myspace-y mp3 tracks from around the same time. Welcome does have farewell frenchman and a few other good tracks but overall was a tad too mid-tempo and same-y or something??

everything since has been solid imo :)

I'm dying to hear this...but I want to wait until Flektro comes out so I can ship them together... Life is hard sometimes.

yes they are =). Well, the tracks are old ofc, from Welcome times, but still TIME EP sounds like 1 big track for me. Even after 5-7 listens. No wonder they werent on Welcome, they sound more like outatkes to me. It's very pleasant to hear the sound overall ofc, but it's soooooo same. I really hope it's just some bonuses from old times and he will suprise us soon

I love photodemdntia 3 so much, but it's not dave, right? he was only on 4th, where it was obvious that it was him

3 and 4 are soooo different, i think it was very bad idea to mix them together on 4th, i deleted 3rd from it immidiatly

maybe vol3 is his old "pre-rephlex" stuff? because it really sounds different (in it's spirit), i wish he made more vibes like Fotografische, Gyrectomy and Ethnog, they are gold

Sorry, it probably ve been asked million times, but who is labyrinthine then? we he release something officially? If it's also monolith I will eat my shorts (because when i heard photodementia it was like labiryntine and drexia made a baby)

actually, labyrinthine reminds me of Varla and kendrickson even more

eh i just went through vol. 1 on youtube and it didn't do too much for me especially compared to welcome. ;\

nah labyrinthine doesn't really sound like jodey at all to me, most likely suspect seems to be monolith. i m o.

if it's monolith, and dave, you are reading it - please release it, its wonderfull! It's what you should do. Your TIME EP is wondderful too but...CUNTS! is a perfect album in all means possible
