Just so everyone remembers how this works, the voting ballot is a list of 50 or less of the most nominated albums. I'll be going through and counting everything, tallying up the nominations for each. They will only be tallied from this thread so if you nominated in the mid-year thread you should transfer that over to this one, unless the album started to suck and you changed your mind. Multiple nomination of an album by the same person will not be counted.

I'll put up the Singles/EPs Nominations thread around the beginning of December. Nominations will go thru Dec 31st for both threads, but its always better to nominate sooner rather than later. It may remind others to support that release. Voting will start and go through the first week of 2015, then we'll have our winners. Good luck to all against Syro, LOL!

Number of nominations counts for how likely something is to get into the voting ballot, so GET EM IN, GET EM IN!

During voting you vote for as many as you want. If there's no clear winner, then there can be a runoff vote where y'all get to vote for only one. That's it. Cheers.

Really happy to see all the Reachy Prints votes in here, it's just a spectacular album!

I think it's time I finally check out the Untold joint...

Not enough votes for Venetian Snares IMO. Quality album - really well produced / mastered, plenty of variety, a few trademark comedy moments and a new dimension to his sound with the added vocals. Plus the bonus CDr things were a neat idea too once we figured out what the hell they were.

Aleksi Perälä - The Colundi Sequence

besides Syro, colundi sequence. Sote's new one and the continuing Dalglish blast, a lot of other stuff this year hyped up in the usual 'underground electronic' marketing cycle just seems not that forward thinking to me. Doesn't mean its bad music, but its not that good either

can anybody recommend truly bizarre/weird stuff along similar lines? or just electronic music done as skillfully as syro

Not exactly along similar lines, but check out Dave Phillips - Homo Animalis. I seem to recall you were a fan of all things Schimpfluch.

Obviously these nominations cover a very broad spectrum of genres:

Could I possibly ask what would be considered 2014 recommendations similar to Tim Hecker, Daniel Lopitan, Autechre, Haxan Cloak Stuff?

Apologies if this a little bit off piste

Cheers!

Steve

Venetian Snares- My Love Is a Bulldozer

Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks- Wig Out at Jagbags

Ekoplekz- Unfidelity

Artificial Brain- Labyrinth Constellation

Aleksi Perala - Colundi Sequence

Aphex Twin - Syro

Beatwife - Cornbrail Acid 2

CN - Nu

Heidi Lord - English Electric

Leyland Kirby - We Drink To Forget the Coming Storm

Plaid - Reachy Prints

Trackermatte - Dark Door
