This takes it to a new level, a faux theme park complete with employees and rides. This must have cost millions of GBP right? Does Banksy have a patron who commissioned this set up? They're selling tickets of course, my guess is to recoup come costs and pay the other artists.

i would take acid if i was allowed to go there, please let this happen.

We took acid once at Magic Kingdom in Orlando, and smoked a bowl hunched down in our car in the parking lot. We were approached twice by two different groups of undercover security asking us for drugs. Disney regularly uses minors and young looking adults to police their parks, it's more wired up with cams than London. There are even cameras in the rest rooms. Don't fuk wit Mickey.

Positive Metal Attitude

I used to be indifferent toward Banksy, but the more I find out about him (against my will, most of the time), the more I hate him. He's the kind of pretentious cunt who appeals to other pretentious cunts who think they're important because they're "artistic" and "revolutionary", even though they don't actually do anything that would qualify them for either of those descriptions. It seems that his trick is to pretend as if his graffiti is changing the world, when all he's doing is complaining about people having fun while other people aren't having as much fun. It's about as meaningless and bland as Andy Warhol, and I wouldn't be surprised if Banksy is one of the pretentious cunts who likes him.

Well there are people who pay millions of pounds for one single Banksy graffito.

dude, did you realise that there are pretentious cunts everywhere, liking literally everything. You've got pretentious cunts for every genre of every art just waiting to annoy you, it's true you know. And the more money something makes, probably the more pretentious cunts jump on board. That said there are things that are terribly unpopular that have just as many pretentious cunts lauding them for how unsuccessful they are, and who drop them, or leave them in the hands of other pretentious cunts as soon as they get popular enough (the british music press en'one). So my original points stands, there's pretentious cunts everywhere liking everything.

So just like things for what they are, not what you perceive a pretentious cunt thinks about them. Don't let your world be a pale and fearful refraction through the crystalline lens of millions of tightly packed pretentious cunts.

his stuff might be getting a bit old by now but he's not as bad as people are making him out to be.

can't help but think that some of WATMM hates him because Sean said he was shite.

Seriously though I think the Warhol comparison sums up my feelings toward him best. I don't even dislike Banksy, I think he's "fine", but I really don't like Warhol. He convinced the world that art and fashion are the same thing and that's mostly taken for granted ever since.

probably also has something to do with WATMM finding a way to hate on literally everything.

Well what I meant was that Banksy is the kind of garbage that can only appeal to pretentious cunts. I think the fact that he went to the Gaza Strip for vacation just so he could act superior to people, then (after assuming that everybody is too ignorant to care about his terribly important vacation) thought he would somehow make people care more about the political situation just by painting on a building shows how deluded and narcissistic he is.

Question, are you an ardent supporter of Israel? This would help me understand the mechanics behind your post, or leave me still befuddled, dependant on the answer.

Nwae, I've plagued this thread long enough, chowzers trousers.

I don't have an opinion on Israel. Maybe that's why Banksy annoys me so much. I just don't like that he thinks he's more important than the journalists who already risk their lives doing actual stories on the Gaza Strip, when all he did was paint a cat and post it online.

lol @ people raving manically over dank memes but being too hip for banksy. One day you will see the error of your ways, sat on your ironcally terrible couch, in your ironic jumper, looking at the ironic wallpaper, set behind the ironic ducks flying their way up the wall and think, "Holy shit, I was the cliché".

anime shirt

someone told me they interviewed a pretty well known 'adversarial' journalist made very popular after the Snowden leaks over skype a couple years ago

the guy being interviewed purposefully made it so the skype shot showed the exposed brick (for those not in the know, exposed brick is now hot in yuppy world) in his manhattan apartment but also a mysterious black and white painting hanging on said brick wall.

the interviewer asked him 'hey what's that picture hanging up on the back wall?'

the guy responded but all of the sudden lisped as he answered in an extremely pretentious cadence

"oh that? Itsth a banksy"

but him and the journalists are doing two different things: the journalists are only telling you what's happening in a completely neutral way, he's reacting to what's happening

i like this dismal world thing because it reminds me a lot of fluxus especially in how it incorporates the audience. it's also a nice touch on the way people relate to the real world through a fantasy element (either film, pictures or in this case, theme parks). today people value material things more than the real world because they experience the real world through material things. the problem is that even that "real world" is heavily manufactured to the point where when something like this comes out, it can be labelled as "art"
