somewhat ironic he's commenting on other tracks requesting downloads

Yes on that 0008673 account who then put a similar comment on one of his. He definitely knows who that other account is.

I just went back to read the "early days" of the Soundcloud stuff, when people where in disbelief that we had 19 new AFX tracks for free. Good times :emotawesomepm9: And now we have 205 and very likely more to come. Superb.

suspicious thing is that the tracks are named like richs ones, with the numbers in front, "[slo]" and stuff like that, also the "afx" in every tag like in his account dunno. sounds not like him, at least what ive heard so far. might be some experiments he never planned to release

Wait a minute... Is https://soundcloud.com/brainwaltzeraalso Rich? I guess it is judging by the comments, equipment, and the music itself? Sounds great no matter who's behind it.

i've been banging on this for awhile. Both users use 8673 or 8736. Many song titles of 8673 have acknowledgements to past works. #tags for afx/tom/mike etc...

Comments posted about said songs & to other users are Richard-esque. "Fanks/fink". some tracks date to early 90's supposedly.

I'm thinking it's his collab work with all the greats in their sparetime over the years. There's a lot of synths/sounds in tracks that allude to this.

If not, it's someone who was around at the same time & got skills. Not buying the troll thing. It's not throw away 1/2 ass music. Unless Rich is the troll.

this person seems like an afx fanboy who is trying to convince ppl he is afx by copying richard's comment styles and tags etc, posting tracks when he sees that richard is posting. the music sounds like it was made recently, and is largely software, or at least mixed in the box. lots of bitcrusher plugins / modern glitch effect plugins and other stuff that richard quit using 10 years ago. some cool tracks tho.

this. very little musical personalities are discernable from all the other user****** accounts.

edit: wow, i feel dumb. should properly listen to the tracks before posting my ignorant opinion.

Disagree...there's plenty of analogue sounds on there and even acoustic ones and the production is deeper than glitch plug-in presets or whatever. that's not what makes me suspicious that it's not RDJ. My issue is that the tracks are very varied....I mean some I feel are no way afx while others maybe...so that has to mean it's not him

maybe it really is fat guy weed bandana, AKA DJ Hi Tek

I'm hardly a closed minded nun. Remember, I'm on a fucking IDM forum.... an IDM forum.. Think about that for a second before claiming people are closed minded nuns.

Well, it seems that I also have an eight of clubs birth date, which of course means that I understand Richard and his work a bit better than the rest of you... Seriously though can't say that I find that the description fits me very well... "natural business sense" huh...

Anyway I just felt like I should post something after these latest uploads because I feel that they are overall just getting better and better, and that is crazy exiting. Thank you so much Richard!

Also this is probably the most "communal" experience I've ever had with a bunch of strangers on the Internet (as communal as it can get when you lurk in a thread); it's fun!

We did some heavy investigating back in February and it seemed like https://soundcloud.com/ogieand

were somehow involved

The brainwaltzera account has a ton of greek letters/writing, or as ogie himself commented on one track "macedonian" which fits with his profile

I downloaded a bunch of the brainwaltzera tracks early on and their actual names were very different, suggesting repurposed tracks for the hoax, one of them ("leesa waar") had "mis-bit" as the artist name and "mis-bit music" as the genre or something

One one of the tracks with Mad@nn@ in the title had a comment where ogie said "u r 2 mis-bit :)" which is extra suspicious because after i mentioned it on watmm he took the comment down

It looked like maybe multiple people got their tracks together to get this going

The art style is not very afx

There's a lot of cheesy sounding percussion here and there

If afx made a track called "Ten Ton Fenix" it would probably get its own vinyl release and maybe a video

The comments are not very aphexy

The april 14 track is just a cindi lauper song slowed down to an hour, try it yourself (time after time), doubtful afx would do this

Also brainwaltzera had given up for a while pretending to be afx and started pretending to be u-Ziq, and now can't seem to decide-- he used to post after AFX posted, then he switched to following u-ziq and now he does it with AFX again

The tone of the writing is very different between the accounts, from track titles to comments

Compare these two comments on the same subject, different writing styles, concerning sounding like boards of Canada:

Brainwaltzera:

dont fink i had heard of em yet when i did this but i def see where ur coming from

afx:

id never heard of them when i made this, ha

again, hadnt heard of them when i made this, I think when I did it put me off doing these kinda tracks actually, not knocking BOC either, love a lot of their music

Brainwaltera is saying "fink" every two seconds, not Rich

The various comments from Rich have better vocab, grammar and spelling in general compared to brainwaltzera - brainwaltz comments seem like maybe english was not their first language

I don't think afx would ever call anything "brainwaltzera" himself too cheezy

Richard has hardly used a single greek letter and brainwaltzera was pretty much bleeding greek lettering for a while

When you really think about it the track names are nothing like the ones on the confirmed account

I could go on and on, but if Richard or Mike were secretly involved I think it would be a little more of a refined production, better track choices ,names, comments, more elaborate hoaxing and trolling, etc

Sorry about the stream of consciousness debunking but i'm trying to remember all my thoughts on this

Yeah that's pretty convincing. maybe he's in on it?
Still really like a lot of those tunes. Plus RDJ bigged up two tracks on that account today so that's saying something.
I'd prefer it if it was a Die Antwood prank...thought I was on to something there :(
