Guest donk
John was the best Beatle, but McCartney II is easily the most WATMM album released by a Beatle (Temporary Secretary, Front Parlour, Frozen Jap...) so Paul gets kudos for that. The Frog Chorus is pretty special too. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/86070-lennon-or-mccartney/page/3/#findComment-2262292 Share on other sites

J3FF3R00
I voted Lennon. I think Harrison is a close 2nd tho. McCartney has some really special moments in the Beatles, but I can't really bring myself to listen to any of his solo stuff. I think Lennon was the "artist" of the group. He always seemed to have the most creative integrity, even when he was goofing around. McCartney was a phenomenal bass player. He was a great singer and writer too, but he really fucking killed it on bass. People hardly acknowledge that enough. Despite that, in all honesty, I'd rather listen to a Yoko Ono album over any of his, any day. She's actually pretty bad ass. I dig her. I only started truly appreciating Harrison when I got to college. Now, I like any of his stuff more than most of Paul's. That Scorsese doc about him is incredible, btw. All joking aside, Ringo was the glue that held the whole thing together, if you ask me. If you imagine any of their stuff without his sound, it's just not the same. They were also more or less a cover band until he joined, then they exploded creatively. He's a sick fucking drummer too. Any band should be lucky to have a drummer half as good a him. He jams like a motherfucker. He's also basically the only Beatle to maintain personal and professional relations with all of the others, post break-up.
