You got people richer than some world countries sending rockets into space and competing who can make a better business model out of it.

On the other side you have people enraged and desperate over inequality and injustice, who need to be heard but no one listens.

The news happen on the same day.

Yep. Going full-speed into dystopia.

Can you US folks please get this guy to run for next president and vote him.

Thank you.

he was born in South Africa, can't do it. that's a good perspective on things as he usually offers, tho.

Then you notice the black faces looting Target and you think, “Well, that just hurts their cause.” Then you see the police station on fire and you wag a finger saying, “That’s putting the cause backward.”

You’re not wrong — but you’re not right, either. The black community is used to the institutional racism inherent in education, the justice system and jobs. And even though we do all the conventional things to raise public and political awareness — write articulate and insightful pieces in the Atlantic, explain the continued devastation on CNN, support candidates who promise change — the needle hardly budges.

...

So, maybe the black community’s main concern right now isn’t whether protesters are standing three or six feet apart or whether a few desperate souls steal some T-shirts or even set a police station on fire, but whether their sons, husbands, brothers and fathers will be murdered by cops or wannabe cops just for going on a walk, a jog, a drive. Or whether being black means sheltering at home for the rest of their lives because the racism virus infecting the country is more deadly than COVID-19.

the dude with a sword? he went to the hospital, he lived. couldn't wait to get his ass back on Twitter ASAP and get some exposure, but now he closed his account apparently. the people kicking his ass seemed to have a good handle on how to kick someone's ass without killing them, because they sure could've easily killed him if they'd wanted. but they weren't reckless assholes like cops or something, they practiced some amount of restraint.

protecting a bar he loves.

These photos further solidify my belief that people who live in cities are the most imbalanced nutjobs.  It's just like industrial livestock.  Too many people living too close together leads to a horror show of chaos.

there's nothing big T hates more than white thugs looting and destroying the fabric of america while defenseless black patriots try and protect "the good guys".

Atlanta’s mayor says two police officers have been fired and three placed on desk duty pending review over excessive use of force during a protest incident Saturday night.

Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said at a news conference Sunday that she and police Chief Erika Shields made the decision after reviewing body-camera footage. Shields called it “really shocking to watch.”

that's how you do it.

An interesting idea, despite the academic criticism- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strauss–Howe_generational_theory

  Quote

The Strauss–Howe generational theory, also known as the Fourth Turning theory or simply the Fourth Turning, describes a theorized recurring generation cycle in American history and global history. It was devised by William Strauss and Neil Howe. According to the theory, historical events are associated with recurring generational personas (archetypes). Each generational persona unleashes a new era (called a turning) lasting around 20–22 years, in which a new social, political, and economic climate exists. They are part of a larger cyclical "saeculum" (a long human life, which usually spans between 80 and 90 years, although some saecula have lasted longer). The theory states that after every saeculum, a crisis recurs in American history, which is followed by a recovery (high). During this recovery, institutions and communitarian values are strong. Ultimately, succeeding generational archetypes attack and weaken institutions in the name of autonomy and individualism, which ultimately creates a tumultuous political environment that ripens conditions for another crisis.

Man you don't burn the courthouses - that causes extra unhappiness in your citizens until the city is restored to normal.
