Sounds like a good ploy to activise potential Trump voters. Of course there will be radicalists at such events. So this will provide plenty ammo for the Trump squad to say "radical leftists!".

And tbh, it doesnt even make sense to have this demonstration/strike with a demand and all these subjects. "Demands". The only things you'll get with all these demands is increased divisiveness and an even less effective government. Really, that's all your getting. What's the point of doing this a couple months before the election? Think.

a global strike to smonk big weed for the USPS would be a hit though.

Again, that's not where the news cycle is right now. It's going around social media, but not the news.

I watch national news everyday. Mainly abs news. Ive seen two black guys getting killed by cops reports. Well, one was attacked by a police dog. He didnt die. Nothing on the white guy getting shot in his own doorway.

the conspiracy wackos are gonna be the  end of us. facebook brought 4chan  idiocy into the mainstream via facebook groups.

Yeah man it's reverse racism

Well, the narrative went into overdrive and prevents an accurate picture of these issues.

I already tried the reasonable route and it didn't go anywhere.

I have linked to it a couple of times previously - Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy's one and only album, Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury, is probably my favourite hip-hop album ever and I just listened to all of it after a longish hiatus - it still sounds as good as ever, and the lyrics are exceptionally poignant criticism of a lot of issues in the US in 1992 - and in 2020. The first track, Satanic Reverses, repeats this multiple times:

  Quote

While in the United States
Civil rights have collapsed at the hands of Fundamentalists
And national insecurity's at an all time high

Television, The Drug Of The Nation is a full-on criticism of the superficiality and anti-intellectualism of the natiion:

  Quote

T.V. is the reason why less than 10 per cent of our
Nation reads books daily
Why most people think Central America
Means Kansas
Socialism means un-American
And Apartheid is a new headache remedy
Absorbed in it's world it's so hard to find us
It shapes our mind the most

[...]

It's the perpetuation of the two party system
Where image takes precedence over wisdom
Where sound bite politics are served to
The fast food culture
Where straight teeth in your mouth
Are more important than the words
That come out of it
Race baiting is the way to get selected
Willie Horton or
Will he not get elected on...

The title track, Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury:

  Quote

Life these days can be so complex
We don't make the time to stop and reflect
I know from first hand experience, one can go delirious
Seriously, it can be like that
But before I put my foot in my mouth
'Cause that's what I'm about to start talking about
Please let me confess before all the rest
That I'm afflicted by this addicted like most in the U.S
It's tough to make a living when you're an artist
It's even tougher when you're socially conscious
Careerism, opportunism can turn the politics into cartoonism
Let's not patronize or criticize
Let's open the door and look inside
Pull the file on this state of denial

The album is also produced really well, if you haven't heard it, I suggest you do - highly recommended.

The real problem here is: why the fuck does a university have its own police force?

I don't think in-house UPDs are really a new thing, at least in the US. I remember back in 2004 we had one at my uni. Although I don't think they have the leftover surplus military hardware that most municipal PDs seem to have inherited these days.

The fact that they've been normalised like that is just weird. I went to a big university, and while we had an RCMP detachment, it was literally like 2 officers on duty. The rest of the time it was campus security, no guns, no mace, just bright orange vests and flashlights for safe walks...

TN governor Bill Lee doesn't like BLM, so he's seeking to "punish" protesters by stripping them of both their 1st Amendment and 15th Amendment rights
