A. [Laughs.] Well “The X-Files” has traditionally ended with a cliffhanger, and people who know us well would expect nothing less.

 

 

Surely this means there’s more to come.

I just had an informal conversation with Dana Walden [a co-chief executive of Fox Television Group], who said they would like more. The question is when. There’s an appetite for it and I think everyone is excited about doing more. It’s just how to get it done.

 

What do you think was the most successful aspect of the revival?

 

It wasn’t just an exercise in nostalgia. We came back to do something new, original and fresh, and I think we did. This wasn’t a cynical ratings grab. We could’ve come back and just done sequels to old episodes but we didn’t do that. Nothing prepares you for a 14-year break, or for how to make the show fresh and thought-provoking after that much time away. Luckily I was able to recruit a lot of the original group that put “The X-Files” on the map back together again. So there was a shorthand there and we had stories to tell.

Fringe is awesome and much better than X Files imo.

they did. they were in mulders placebo shroom trip @ a table in the bar. that was all.

 

I saw that, but the BTS special showed them looking like they would actually appear. Maybe one or more of them is dead by this point.

 

Didn't they all die in the original run of the series? But reading wiki it seemed it was retconned in some comics that they faked their deaths. Meh.

the next ep: world's population is almost decimated, big alien motherships are seen everywhere, but Scully's antidote saves the day and the world.

the following episode: a monster with red eyes and horns is stalking teenagers in the woods ... Mulder and Scully go to investitage.

Wouldn't that be a bit silly, after a near extinction level event? yeah. it was always silly, but I can't help liking it

i'm surprised that they gave us all that reasoning for alien dna, when the original series dragged that plot line on forever and didn't explain why

so mulder will die , skully will get killed off and we'll be left with the two noobers, innit?

I'm amazed they managed to make a worse episode than the first one, even Anderson was bad in this one (not that she had anything to work with). I really hope they don't get picked up for more episodes, because I'd probably watch them.

Just got around to watching the last episode. 'Sblood that was abysmal.

amazing that they offered Anderson half the fee they offered Duchovny to begin with, should've been the other way around.

But also, if I were to re-reboot this series, I would make a drama/comedy of Mulder and Scully just chilling.  Mulder could start every sentence with, "Aaaaw dude"

The one episode I saw of the last series was Mulder hallucinating about dancing in a pub n shit.

So I'd say they already did this.

As long as Darin Morgan writes a few episodes I'm fine. Been watching re-runs over here. The oddball standalone episodes are the best.

But, like the run in 2016, it will be mostly shit.

This is just sad now. Season 10 was awful.

Mulder and Scully meet the Were-Monster was great, but the rest of the episodes were really bad... I can't believe they greenlit another season. Were the ratings that good?
