I remember the day I first heard the Xylem Tube EP in Tony's Records (I think) in Bristol... never heard anything like it before..that was like what, 23 years ago. I haven't stopped listening since then, and this new slew of tracks will hopefully see me through the next 20+ years. Much respect to you for mellowing and realizing your fans are worthy of yer luv and doing this crazy thing. You made history. Your music is the reason I started making music , although I'm not sure that's something I should thank or curse you for( what I lack in natural talent I make up with obsession).

Thanks Richard for the ambiant stuff that are full of deep human vibes (I played Stone in Focus at my grand father burial years ago), for the industrial tracks like Garden of Limniri , 73- yips , Ventolin , the Quoth mixes that kicked the ass of the techno scene , these tracks are still played very loud in old Bunkers of my city (with the Universal indicators , especially the green one) . Thanks too for the hot funkyness of Windowlicker , I shagged one girl or two with this in background , for Fingerbib that always bring me back to the good days of my childhood , for Blue calx that make me enter in meditation when I am in front of the sea , for the Saw2 remix when I want to kill somebody , for lichen and its amount of human kindness , for B+w Stripes that always give me the best of chills in the morning , for Donkey Rhubarb that make me want to jump in the street smiling to people and throwing them my shit to the face , for Polynomial-C who brings metaphysical questions to my head , for Come to Daddy , for .942937 , Ziggomatic 17 , for Rushup L Bank 12 Mount Saint Michel , Minipops 67 and loads of others.

As a Producer I'd like to thank you for defending "alternative" rythm box like the 606 and 808 in techno in the 90's, it would have been easy at the time to be an 909 bitch like everybody. Thanks for the well executed changes of aesthetics that kept us out of boredom (the only guy who did it well with you is G. Donald imo ) , thanks for not hiding behind the "simple and accessible" pretext for doing always the same old shit. Thanks for the complexity of your sequences and patterns, I hope you didn't lost too much hairs while doing it .

Even if you dont wan't to release music anymore because of your family life or for whatever reasons, you did a lot man , more than most of people and the stuff is immortal so don't pressure yourself . You are the most respected one , even if people don't always come and lick your ass , they know. You made me want to make music when I was a teenager man , I do that today and I'm happy of this choice even if I don't make millions. Wish you the best for the rest of your life , enjoy the moments with the ones you love and be happy.

ps: This idea of making a track or two with G.Donald can be really nice , he was great on the latest arpanet on rephlex and on the Der Zyklus biometric, fresh aesthetics, really subtle work.

My birthday was was two days ago. I got some awesome gifts from friends and family and a had a lovely dinner that evening...

and then you managed to outdo all of that.

If not for all these uploads this would have been a pretty shit week, thanks Rich for brightening my week (and weeks to come as I absorb all this amazing music!)

Also all of this has really inspired me to really put effort into making music again, with the notion that not every track needs to be fucking amazing, sometimes you just gotta jam with sounds and be happy with what it is.

I'm newer to the party than most here having finally realized the awesomeness of Aphex two or three years ago. After gorging myself on the entire back catalog, it's been a helluva ride the past year or so with CAT023, Syro, the new EP and this incredible soundcloud dump.
