I think it's actually fitting to make them repeat this shit, coz it's what they do over the years - keep repeating their utterly honest sorrow song like a sorrow automata.

"ALL PROFITS WILL BE DONATED TO PARTNERS IN HEALTH, AN ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF IMPOVERISHED PEOPLE WORLDWIDE. "

well kudos to them that's something

the other side is there will be little to no profit on this at all lol

First there was waterboarding.

I like the national in small doses, but 8 hours of them would cause me irreparable psychological damage I think.

This.

I struggle listening to their albums from start to finish, but a song here and there is totally fine.

"7 Skies H3" is a single, 24-hour-long song contained in an EP, 24 Hour Song Skull.

The song was released in a limited edition of 13 copies, on flash drives encased in real human skulls, for Halloween 2011. Each skull cost $5,000. A website was also set up, streaming the song on an endless loop.

On April 19, 2014 the band released a condensed 50 minute version, separated into 10 tracks, on a translucent vinyl LP for Record Store Day, limited to 7,500 copies. It was released on CD and Digital on May 19, 2014.

That's pretty hilarious, five grand is a bit silly though.

There's also Longplayer, a 1000 year piece that is broadcast live at http://longplayer.org/.

Bull of Heaven are notorious for making absurdly long pieces (granted, they're just tape loops that continue endlessly, and the piece is considered finished when the loops return to their original synchronization, so it's just clever maths). They have pieces ranging from eight hours, five weeks, five years (though this is actually incomplete, you can download the several terabytes file and attempt to open it in your music player), and 4.45×10^30 minutes (That's 8 septillion years). They also have a .exe that attempts to extract a file forever.

Not to mention the usual locked groove EPs/LPs (I have a breakcore record lying around that has a few locked grooves, weird release).

Stoked to watch OA II. The movement thing never bothered me, anyone familiar with Druidic studies will recognize the importance of movement to get to higher planes.

really cool stuff Oceans, i thought i was verging on music buff with five weeks of music in the library but apparently ive got another 8 septillion years ahead of me.

fixt

I saw a video of the performance at the Modern in Fort Worth and it was interesting since I didn't know what was going on at first. The song just kept going but the way the video is made and the edits in the arrangements are done made we wonder if it was looped are indeed played continuously.

As an art installation, being able to watch a chunk of the video and walk off to the next room, I really enjoyed it and it was a welcome change to the typical museum fare.

As a vinyl boxset, I would never purchase this, and while I can see there diehard fans wanting it, I could see no one ever listening to the whole thing but just letting it collect dust on the shelf. I'm very surprised they would release it in audio format though since the installation itself was so video-centric and it seems to lose alot of the artistry with the just the audio.

What Poiman said. All the albums from Alligator to Trouble will find me are all very good. They are excellent live as well. As long as Berninger goes easy on the wine.

Yikes this is dumb

Like...... It's way cooler to listen to music in 12 parts live cause that's like 6 hours long and good music and really fucking hard to play
