this album gives off a ton of mixed vibes referencing various albums/projects, not just Big Soup. like, the opener is Big Soup. Officer's Club and some other trax are straight Kerrier District disco business. some other tracks are Yoseph-ish acid funk. it's all over the place, in a good way.

have my babies, Luke. *changes surname to Vibert, puts on blonde wig*

Really enjoying this album, like mentioned above, it's really varied and just full of fun and energy, was just rocking out to it the whole time :) great sequel to We Hear You, with kind of the same build up a bit? Anyway, Power Press was the only track that had me a bit annoyed at the melody line like some We Hear You tracks had too, but even that one had me grooving in the end.

Lovely!

^^ Yes I got the similarities to We Hear You as well. Kind of a Vibert "Hello Everything" type of deal...

Would just like to chime in and say that I have been super loving this album over the past week. I bought "Throbbing Pouch" when it came out and have followed Vibert on and off ever since. Loved that album, loved all the Plug stuff, back and forth on Wagon Christ over the years, but generally he really delivers when it's under his own name. And I can say that right now this release is easily in my top 5 of all-time LV releases. As other have mentioned - super varied, super funky, and just a ton of fun. As a 20-year Ae geek, after all the excitement recently with the NA tour, it's nice to now be listening to something that is a bit of fun; somewhat complementary to all of the Ae headiness and austerity. Here's to 20 more solid years of LV and Ae both! It wouldn't surprised me if it happened. :)

This album is fuckin awesome. nonstop listening, ordering Japanese cd. no doubt. Come to America Luke, again. It's been 12 years since I've seen this cat.

Goddamn this is a good record. Vibert is a perpetual funk machine!

So was there a Japan edition of this? Thought there was mention of bonus tracks at some point.

Thanks to the US presidential election, I can only hear the sample on Knockout that goes "How's your evening so far?" as being said by Ben Carson.

Great album. Definitely continues the trend of CDR, Rhythm, and We Hear You in being a little bit of everything Luke, which I can appreciate. Fave tracks are Phil It, Manalog, War, Power Press and Doozit.

Manalog total sounds like it could be off the Ridmik album but is better than any track on there, go figure.

For these mu releases, does Luke do the selections/sequencing of tracks or is it Mike P? Also bollix to whatever Luke said about not having the time/whatever to make Plug tunes, and yet we get Don't Fuck Around!

I'd love to have an Amen Andrews album (Don't Fuck Around being amen andrews style, yeah?).

ps... are you actually in Peru? Such an amazing country. I miss proper fresh ceviche....

Yeah the News of The World ep was dope, get on that steph g if you haven't already

(alas no I don't live in peru - never even been across the equator - but I'd love to visit there someda, peep machu picchu, ecotourism bullshit, etc. My location stems from the dank memes thread picking up steam right around the time I started reading Paddington Bear stories with my 3-y.o. daughter. The bear makes numerous references to his former place of residence - Darkest Peru - which I cannot help but read as Dankest Peru) #FWP

But I digress, Don't Fuck Around is proper lush jungle :music:

Ah, that's too bad. Peru is a great country, hopefully you're able to visit it one day. =)

I've just been listening to this in the car since I got it, but I watched the killer video for Bizarster with headphones on, and wow I didn't really notice the awesome stereo craziness before. There aren't too many tracks where I'm that impressed by how stereo separation is implemented. I have to go and listen to the whole album on nicer headphones.
