So weird! Grew up on Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club and started listening to them again last week independent of this thread. Re-discovered Great Curve and it has become my new favorite song of theirs. Great minds think alike...

Was just listening to this bomb again yesterday in a sudden disco edit attack, I can play this one for hours in a row. It's a longer / bit faster edit I think, but mostly kept the same as the original. It was the very last track played in the Trouw club in Amsterdam before it closed down permanently, so yeah, I'd say they're still very relevant :)

Just remembered hearing Burning Down The House by Talking Heads as a kid in some average movie and finding it amazingly annoying. The turning point was when the Pukkelpop liveset by Aphex and Vibert was uploaded because they played some version of Once In A Lifetime, didn't know what it was but I was fascinated.

That edit is wonderful. I really need to check out more disco edits, I love them when they are done right.

What part of the Pukkelpop was that song in? That's a DJ I never got around to listening to carefully.

For the créme de la créme of disco edits: DJ Harvey (his Black Cock releases), Theo Parrish's Ugly Edits, every edit by Ron Hardy and everything on the Super Value label :)

It was used in one of the opening scenes of Revenge of the Nerds where... wait for it... the jocks burn down their own frat house.

That must've been it! I take back the 'some average movie' in that case :dadjoke: what didn't help was that I combined that TH track with this track in my head:

Once I could separate those two I was OK with TH I guess.

Just wanted to give you watmmers a heads-up on this

Mr Byrne is in the UK for his Meltdown Festival, there's loads of stuff about him for the next few days to be found here. He's on live right now talking about Sunn O))) etc with Lauren Laverne.
