Akai's turn for the cheap analog thing

Recommended Posts

One thing that's pretty novel about Akai's recentish analog offerings, is that they're shit. And I mean that seriously. I used to be mostly all hardware until early 00's, and even if I used some super affordable gear, it wasn't shit.

So basically I've never used something that sounded like garbage, and I'm wondering what it's like. When it comes to art creation tools, there seems to be this general belief that the artist makes the end result. So if I'm so legit, I wanna see if I can create something useable with Akai's misdirected garbage. It's almost like the later stages of IDM training: using tools that don't even work.

you'll truely be idem when you can make music with nothing more than a chilled glass of ice water with ice

idk unstable tuning is a feature for a polysynth in my mind... also being able to program each voice differently is p neat. could be nice to write music with it, put a slightly different patch on each voice. never sure what sorta tuning each note will be.

beep boop beep (idm)

Haha

Honestly these dumbass hardware makers need to start releasing opensource hardware.

Make a really solid piece of hardware with some really basic software functionality, then release an SDK so third party developers can add the awesome sauce.

They are just clueless corporations in most cases though.
