What was most surprising about last night's game was that Atleti played by far the better football, had more of the ball as well, it was far from a classic, but at least they were making an effort. With the players at his disposal that's the best that Zidane could get from them? It's a real shame such nothing managers like Zidane and Di Mateo have won the champion's league.

It was quite an engaging match. Zidane outwitted Simeone in the first half, but needed to switch up his tactics in the second half. Real should have scored more than one in the first half, was entirely possible. Credit to Simeone's substitutions making the difference. Also the difference in quality between Carvajal and Danilo was pretty evident, although I'm sure Carrasco would have given Carvajal a run for his money as well. Don't think Carvajal would have been caught out of position that badly on the equaliser though.
