yeah but Canada are always bringing in foreign coaches, more and more of their players play abroad and you know if you play Canada they wont give up for love nor money

Nuffink could describe the post-colonial Englandshire rugby beast better than its choice of fan-anthem Swing Low, all sung by plummy upper middle class cunts with plenty of slave owning ancestry.......irony? oh maaaaaaaaaaaaan it goes waaaaaaaaaaaay beyond that

I don't see the problem with Sam B in the starting lineup. He made the squad and has proved his worth. If Roberts or whoever else was playing and got injured after 2 minutes, Burgess would get on the pitch anyway.

Calling all English rugby fans upper middle class plummy twats makes you sound like a football fan. We'll have none of that nonsense here thankyou very much my little sheep shagging valley dwelling buddy

Great game, lived up to the hype.

Wales went for it and deserved the win, we bottled it and there was just too much pressure.

Now we just need to smash Oz and Uruguay.

from a world cup winner, i;ll take that

wow, that was pathetic stuff from England. they were like a shit Scotland side, decent build-up play but impotent in the 22. Australia barely had to get out of 2nd gear.

sad for Japan earlier, had plenty of chances to go for tries in the second half, but kept going for the posts with the game already won, if they'd managed a bonus point they'd be still in this.

better than soccer. At least something happens. Also who cares ala moanenators ovf whom i share values, cause i don't watchenate. I remember when i went to france as a 15 year old, my aunt's husband was very happy to drive me somewhere, like it was gonna be some big thing that i'd be really enjoying, but not letting me in on it. Then at his friend's joint (my uncle didn't have tv (would rot his children's minds or something, don't know if i disagree these days)) there was the rugby world cup and australia was playing. I was to be impressed, poor guy, "umm, sport ? .. why ?", we presently left before the game got going such was his deflation. He hated me in some deep way after that. Later staying at his place, death were playing in paris and i wanted to go (i'd already been allowed to go to paris with my younger brother from meaux on the train (we went to piere lachase (sp,) to see morrison grave, plus the market that sold everything whatever that's called, was a bit hairy when we got back though, some ethno gang people being all scary at us when we went in the tunnel off the platform, ran a little bit and it was only early evening) , and was happy to find my way there and back from their little village location, i was unrelenting, not in the way you imagine from a nasty little 15 turning 16 yr old, but still, he shoved me against a wall and that was the end of that. I missed the one chance i had to watch one of my favourite bands ever because of fucking rugby.

its the last genuine sport in the post modern period

The last genuine sport is wrestling, oldest sport and it is play in the spirit of all sports which is to have a close encounter body rubbing homoerotic experience without being thought of as gay.

disappointing performance from Ireland today, though Italy were in much better form with Parise back in the side, him and Furno really dominated the back-row battle. we still won the game relatively comfortably in the end (try saving tackle from O'Mahoney aside), but we'll need to be better to beat France (or Argentina, who've been impressive so far themselves). dominant lineout, scrum still looking solid, sexton's tactical kicking is great, just need to improve on the aggression at the breakdown, speed up the recycling of the ball (O'Brien in particular playing well below his best).

you've clearly never been in Dublin on international day vs Inglan

and you know rugby is essentially women porn too right, so yer good to go

as much as team sport should be a caveat its still consistently the best game in the world

Had a really fun day at the Olympic park yesterday, felt like 52000 Irish fans and 1000 Italians! Sat amongst the Irish contingent when they start singing "the fields..." Was lump in the throat moment.

Nothing to say about the Eng vs Oz game apart from the best team won.

Australia crushing

I haven't watch New Zealand play yet but I feel pretty confident the Wallabies will do pretty well. They look to be in top form

NZ have been the most impressive so far, in that they've clearly not been at their best and still look very impressive. Australia next best so far, Argentina also doing well. Ireland, SA, and France might still progress past the quarters though, can't see Scotland or Wales getting much further, though you never know with Wales, always capable of the unexpected.

Media were going on about how Ireland looked poor, but to be honest I would say Italy looked stronger than before, best performance from them so far and definitely more confident with Perise on the field.
