Russell Haswell - As Sure As Night Follows Day

I reckon there's got to be a few into Haswell on here so it's worth making a thread imo. Just grabbed this album earlier and it's absolutely lush. Recognizing a few bits from his Boiler Room gig (like HARDWAX FLASHBACK) too.

Fucking hell, this album is really hitting the spot for me. First time playing it out loud on a proper system, what a beast.

Should get some more Haswell. Only have Live Salvage and the collab with Akita.

Yeah, time to work my way through his discography, don't have much besides Double A and this and the Painjerk collab / split from last year. It's pretty much all great.

These are two of his best works IMO.

New interview with the man, great read so far:

http://www.residentadvisor.net/feature.aspx?2290

"In the past, friends and former collaborators of his like Aphex Twin and Autechre had apparently told him to "just stick a fucking beat on it, Russ,""

yeah really good read.

I was saying in chat a few months back that the new Haswell is really cool because it's like he's put 20 years experience in making noise into making an incredibly dry techno record.

It's a very singular listening experience

Gotta love the people's response

I REALLY like what he did with his name graphically there.

Fucking adore Boiler Room sets like this when the crowd try desperately to find something to shuffle to in their instagram-fuelled-hipster-bearded-ironic-neon-driven attire. Schadenfreude in its purest form !

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

re: the hat light.

When he was doing his circuit bent noise set supporting AE on the Oversteps tour, pretty sure the hat light was for light-sensitive potentiometers.

My dick is a Haswell-sensitive potentiometer. :catrecline:
