What are the BBC implying?

I've actually been in a bar when they BoC. Pretty weird place to hear it but kinda cool. Unfortunately it wasn't any white label rarity.

There's someone working for a TV station here who knows of BOC, Aphex, AE, etc and thinks its a good idea to use it as a score for just about any report they can concoct. And in the rapiest possible way too, using the same bit of a song several times over and making sure it doesn't fit the atmosphere of what's on screen at all.

I'm probably biased 'cause I love this music so much, but in my opinion it's a rather offensive use of proper music.

I've heard BoC in a hamburger restaurant and it wasn't even a remotely hipsterish place. They played a track from one of the EPs. Hi Scores if I remember correctly.

So was there any confirmation that this white label 12" was anything of note?

To be honest, I can kind of imagine some of BoC's downtempo stuff playing in a bar, like Roygbiv or Kid For Today. Would set a nice, laid-back feeling imo. I think I've even heard Sunshine Recorder in a cafe once - wasn't jarring at all, usually that track really creeps me out!

 

But yeah, someone spinning Korona in a bar? Not too sure hehe

Imagining "It's a Whole 'Nother Year" playing in a bar is giving me some trippy vibes right now.
