TubularCorporation
I've made a couple guitars completely from scratch, original designs etc. and the last one was pretty good. Some synth stuff, but only other people's designs since I don't really know much about electronics theory, I can just solder well. Kits are good practice but in my experience they don't really teach much if anything about how stuff actually works. I've made a few fuzz pedals for people over the years, and I made myself some passive DI boxes from scratch but that was really just finding the pinout diagram for some old socketed mic transformers I'd found, and then wiring jacks to them. The guitars are the only stuff I consider mine, if you know what I mean, The other stuff is fun and a way to get things that are unusual new designs or overpriced classics.
