I'm curious - not trolling, what were you eating before you started this type of diet? Were you active at all?

Sure, for periods at a time, but it's very hard to stay active when you're sick all the time especially when you have very extreme joint pains. I was going to the gym 4-5 times a week at one point. I weighed 195, could bench 70 pound dumbbells in each hand, but I was pudgy, looked like shit, and felt like shit. Ended up having to increase all my clothing sizes, because they were getting too small. I had lots of trouble with focus and simple things like getting out of bed in the morning. As a kid I played soccer very competitively, 3 times a week sometimes with tournaments all weekend which would end up being anywhere from 3-8 games or something. Did that from age 5 to 17.

My diet was pretty standard american growing up. Mostly too much processed shit with too many carbs. In adulthood it was similar. Too much low quality meat as well. When attempting to eat healthy food it was always failure, because of an uninformed approach. For instance, eating too lean to satisfy my hunger.

I'm 173 pounds now, and I'm extremely lean and muscular. I'm more toned than I've ever been my entire life. I do p90x if that's any clue to my fitness level. I also do a lot of yoga. Most people think I'm in my early twenties when they see me not almost 30. My brother who is 11 months older than me is noticeably more wrinkled than I am. I also do things I haven't even really mentioned here like intermittent fasting.

Here is a study where comprehensive lifestyle changes lengthened participants telomeres. A good indication that their life had been extended, and their aging had been slightly reversed.
