It's more a rip off of old science text books the covers of science journals and academic things of the 50s and 60s. That said, the chatmm cover/s is/are superior.

I would expect a more adventurous approach from VS. I am surprised to see people are still interested in this.

Why is it that producers with modulars aren't usually able to come up with something more sonically interesting?

i agree with the bland sonic textures thing, amongst the content produced by those that have bought into this modular fad. It's reaaallly obvious and not something to put n a list. A modular system isn't a magic wand that is going to improve your sound picking and morphing skills people, if anything the painful fucking around of it all will further divorce you from the chance to. But these people hear something acidee with shifting rez and cut and think that they're analard. lol, maybe analord was a dirty pun, probably we've thought that before, so whatever. heh.

On top of that general comment, vsnares specifically doesn't seem to be intrested in the lush end of the sound spectrum and, to my tastes at least is arbitrary in his choice of stabs and pads, they're just a functional counterpoint to the super detailed rest of the production. So I haven't been shocked in being underwhelmed by his modular efforts. It is a bit depressing that this is all people have ended up doing with the thousands of dollars worth of kit though, but whatever, heh.

eneewae, despite all of that, I look forward to checking out what he's made, but I won't be buying it, I mean blasphemy of blasphemies, I didn't like most of analord, and there had actually been some knob twiddling going on so there you go. As they say in canadiastan, Sorry.
