Buy It For Life Thread

Recommended Posts

We happen to have a mechanic at my work who's spent plenty of time working with tires. I'll ask him in the morning about that bead sealer. One of the perks of my job.

EDIT: New-paged again? Oh well.

To keep it real and analog, I'm gonna start posting to WATMM by writing my posts in fountain pen on hemp paper, putting them in bottles, and throwing them into the ocean.

I bought this jacket last week for 350 with the idea that it'll last me for life.

An extravagant purchase but more of an investment because I justify it to myself by saying I live in a place with shitty weather for half the year and i'll wear it a lot so in the end I can go outside and be warm and dry until old age.

Bonus IDM points because Arcteryx is a Canadian company!

wow adieu. i had never heard of herman miller chairs.. on first glance their lineup is blowing me away.

I got really tired of getting a new chair every couple of years and having horrible back pain and discomfort.

I bought the best one, and added a headrest as well. It's probably the best purchase I've ever made. comfiest fucking thing.

Also got one of those under desk feet hammocks too. It's chill as fuck to lean back, put up your feet, and watch something.

There will be new love from the ashes of us.

I did a ton of shopping around before purchasing this bag. I chose it, because it's 100% waterproof and it's high frequency welded instead of using threading. I also appreciate the lack of tons of pockets, because it makes it easier to secure my stuff when traveling.

That looks like a really nice design! The zippers sound great.. My chrome bag has normal zippers but it doesn't matter much.. the geometry won't allow any weather water in.

That bag looks like it could take a dunk in water maybe.

As much as I like to shit on Apple, iPods are just great. I've had a 3rd 4th generation iPod Nano for close to 10 years now. It's been through hell and back: the crystal screen protector is gone, the top white lid is gone, but it still works flawlessly.

I lost mine awhile back but man was that solid, even after wear and tear, gunship grey model and 80GB

At our wedding they asked what groom cake I wanted I was like "I dunno, just do my ipod or something" and they did - looked great and the cake itself was actually pretty good

Was hesitant to post this as it probably will scare some of you euro peeps

Maybe some of you are into fixed blades.. I cringe when I see people buying Gerbers, SOG, cold steel, etc.. Not necessarily bad knives but for less than $90 this knife makes those look like kids toys. They're manufactured by Ontario Knife Company but the originals were hand forged by Justin Gingrich, a knifemaker from Florida. I personally feel OKC did an amazing job replicating his extreme knife design and he was very adament about OKC not letting him down.

I didn't have any more interesting things to thrust at but believe me when I say the OKC Ranger knives can penetrate and baton through car doors, metal doors, wooden doors, steel pipes, pretty much any house wall.. None of which has any effect on the blade itself. 5160, when forged right and heat treated right, is probably one of the toughest blade steels out there. It's the same steel used specifically for leaf springs in a car suspension.

I used to carry a set of Ka-Bar knives, and while I still love those too, the RD-7 is not even in the same league. Extreme...

I carry it around all the time and it probably scares people but idgaf.. new sheathe should hide things a bit because it's not my intention to seem aggressive in public. It's found the most use camping/hiking, opening stubborn canned foods, as a prybar and busting up materials..

Shit man Michael Myers got to take it out on plastic bins now that Jamie Lee Curtis is all grown up and that.

mike's mistake was waltzing around with that unwieldy stainless kitchen cutlery. he spent too much time struggling with barriers of entry and imo was an unfortunate ineffective villain.
