Guest bitroast
ye. when rephlex site says > These are PRE-MASTERED encodings < i'm assuming that means, between the digital raw files that were uploaded to rephlex site (even they look like they've had some mastering/compression thrown in the mix), i'm guessing there was an additoinal step of mastering involved to get it sounding good and proper on vinyl. whether those vinyl masters sound good when listened to from the source or not is one thing. maybe they're specifically mastered to make benefit of the vinyl dynamic range + format ?? or something. but either way, maybe there is something going on that makes the audio on vinyl sound better than what you're hearing when listening to the digital unmastered files. i still think, ... it's a matter of mastering + eq-ing + what have you, which is pretty much the first reply in this thread. "it's called mastering!" ,... as opposed to some deep inexplicable explanation thing going on that can be boiled down to digital vs analogue. TheTransitionary
I just bought my first analord vinyl today (analord 02), i have to say it definitely sounds fucking great compared to the FLACs I have. I was also assuming they were all analogue inputs, recorded to analogue, pressed from analogue. kinda a shame if they aren't because it'd have been interesting to hear what that might sound like, just out of interest Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide TheTransitionary's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/90163-analord-recordings-and-playback-media/page/2/#findComment-2429074 Share on other sites
