I love hearing these monstrous waveguides...

waveguide?

can be really weird and "alive" and make for situations where results are difficult to repeat depending on the algorithm.. for example..

makenoise mysteron module is on such waveguide (karplus but does lot's of weird shit)

I'm pretty sure they are using software entirely. The last hardware I remember them talking up was the Yamaha FS1R during the Oversteps period.

just posted the mysteron module as an example of waveguide since it has some info about how it works.. what it is.. fwiw that module is software w/hardware interface...

in the AAA thread sam said they still use the nord modular, particularly bc rob still likes it.

They also still use the MPC and some other things, apparently primarly for their control surface rather than their sound.

the madrona labs stuff has a waveguide delay implemented in it but it's nothing like the mysteron algorithm. there's probably some other stuff out there.. maxforlive devices that use karplus type stuff.. but nothing that sounds like whatever autechre is doing. who knows wtf they implemented in that song. it sounds like some waveshaping going on too.
