So it seems that I will attend two shows on this tour: Warsaw and London! I am fucking stoked! Yaey!

In London I will be accompanied by a classically trained musician (opera singer), who knows Autechre but she has never seen them live and hasn't experienced the total AE immersion. Hope it will be a blast!

A seated Autechre gig sounds interesting, good if you're in the mood to relax, absorb the sound behind your lids, and trip out in your own head. But I imagine many people will be standing and moving and getting down to the music anyway. In my experience that's how it has been when there is a dancy act in a theatre type venue. Visuals might also be a component of that behavior too though.

Dunno saw plaid at the RFH back in 09 and everyone stayed in their seats. There's not actually anywhere to move about to in the RFH as I remember.

The plaid gig wasn't wholly suited to the environment to be honest. The slower ambient stuff at the start suited it better than when they were playing stuff like 'zeal'. Pitch black autechre sounds better though - wonder if they will scale back some of the banging stuff from the 2015 sets for something a bit more introspective?

That's the 'missing' London show!

I'm a member of the Southbank Centre and got an email today:

Priority Booking: Autechre
On sale to Members and Supporters Circle from 10am Wed 8 Jun

Fri 25 Nov

Immerse yourself in live electronic music – in the pitch dark.

Electronic music group Autechre consists of Rob Brown and Sean Booth, of Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

Formed in 1987, the duo has evolved from roots in techno, electro and hip-hop to complex patterns of rhythm and subdued melodies.

The Autechre live experience plunges Royal Festival Hall into total darkness for heightened musical listening.

All seated venue - quite a departure for them I'd say...

how does it feel to know that people who do not give a single fuck about electronic music have priority over tru fans

I got an email about the South Bank Centre gig and I'm not a member. I got a ticket to it though.

No Dublin gig, so I fancy a trip to London.

can't say a seated ae show sounds particularly tempting to me but in such a swish venue maybe there'll be less talking during the show than usual, that'd be a great +.

i think a seated ae show would be fantastic! totally fits the music they've been playing the past couple tours. super detailed & constantly shifting; demanding your full attention.

It seems the early sale thing for 'priority members' at the RFH got rinsed out well enough. I looked an hour after they went on general sale and there was only bar stools left, flol.

I'm salty u__u

A bar stool at an autechre gig (obviously with uninterrupted views) sounds fucking ace imo. I'd have one of those sir. And another beer please landlord.
