The Disco's Of Imhotep is about creating Frequencies and Vibrations for the Listener that are conducive for him or her to Heal The Mind and Body and Enrich the Soul by creating Hemi-Synced Harmonies and music that contains embedded Binaural Beats.
We have been made to believe that electronic sounds are just for Movement, Enlightenment, Primal Afflictions and Entertainment purposes, but it's much more... It's Sound Healing, but the ancestors would call it Frequency Medicine. Medicine is Healing and this project is dedicated to one of Earth's first Healers: High Priest Imhotep.
"The One who comes in Peace, is with Peace."

Out in a few days, but in the meantime he just dropped a new album containing really decent studio demo sessions:

Mostly glad to finally see him on bandcamp, hope he does more on there so I don't have to hunt the endless stream of CD-r's he releases :)

The PayPal went through to Ninja Tune

He's extremely prolific and it appears he's only done 1 EP and LP with Planet Mu. Guess it was more of a one-off release/contract. It isn't unusual too for artists to jump from Planet Mu to Ninja Tune: Machinedrum and Falty DL more of less used the label as a stepping stone. For better or worse Planet Mu is something of an incubator for some really good artists who then sign to a label with bigger distros. IIRC Mike P tried getting Actress on the label before he went to 4AD.

Just starting to dive into this guy's work...what's y'alls favorite release by him?

Listening to The Fourth Dimension of a Nubian Mystic now.

Yes, that one is amazing!

I'd suggest starting with the Mu compilation if you haven't already. Then this:

https://www.discogs.com/Hieroglyphic-Being-Liquid-Sex-EP/master/368005

https://www.discogs.com/Hieroglyphic-Being-And-The-Configurative-Or-Modular-Me-Trio-Cosmic-Bebop-/release/8690081

And this compilation is amazing if you like extremely raw, stripped down demented bangers:

https://www.discogs.com/IBM-From-The-Land-Of-Rape-Honey-The-Suppressed-Tapes-1995-2005/release/7602037

For his more experimental stuff, this is a fave:

https://www.discogs.com/Hieroglyphic-Being-Strange-Strings/release/2979191

He also did an album with Marshall Allen (91 y.o. from Sun Ra's Arkestra fame) recently which is a tough nut but incredibly rewarding:

Anyway, maybe a good starting point will be this RBMA Fireside Chat that he literally just did an hour or two ago, it's already up for streaming here, based on the tracklist they're playing mostly what I've just summed up above haha:

^ Huge thanks! I actually might check out that Marshall Allen one first, I could go for something quite out there this morning.

I appreciate the time you too to list those, that's exactly what I was hoping to find without skimming and searching too much in his releases.

i bet mike p is pissed. the mu to ninja transition is a well-worn path but an irritating one

I kind of rushed it though, but maybe that's for the better because otherwise I'd list 10 other things as well. Anyway, here are some great one-offs that'll maybe help:

Just released two months ago, these Gherkin series are all amazing imo.

that mix rules

thank you for posting the interview, thats a good listen to hear the brain in word/logic motion, his troubled personal history & seeing music as sanity therapy (aint that the truth)

which works to go for? 1 of those rare people where every release has interesting/grooves/ideas/focus/ideology thing in full effect, just wade into it & get ready to be mind fucked

I really like this album, plus the "Fourth Dimension" EP that he released on the same label a year ago.

What other stuff in this guy's discography should I check out, that may sound similar?
I've tried to listen to a few others, but most of them are too lo-fi in a really messy way, for my taste.
