that sounds like a fool proof plan for getting kicked out of a festival and possibly arrested

There will be new love from the ashes of us.

God, 2AM... I'm too old for this shit! :dadjoke:

So... WATMM tees? Should we do a special one for this?

HEAT

FOR

NIGHT

A) should be on american apparel black t-shirt

B) text should be white, printed front, in reasonably sized lettering

C) watmm logo on the sleeve or below the neck on the back

P.S. don't JR. We'll get you some speed and you'll be tip top for Aphex.

Erm, don't do drugs myself. I'm sure there will be plenty of Red Bull in the VIP room to keep me awake :dadjoke:

sure. seems like the design kinda makes itself. watmm w rotated and placed inside the day for night circle logo? date. more minimal the better imo

I was thinking the same thing... incorporating the DfN logo into the WATMM logo.

OH MY LOL... please tell me that's a 'shop...

It's real. I think I took this.

Oh shit, must have purchased a ticket last night when I was drunk lol. Woke up and was like 'hmm wonder if I should buy a ticket or not?' like I was still debating it... Check my email, ticket bought. Well I guess it's official ha ha, now I need to plan. I am a couple hours from Chicago not sure how I'm going to travel for this one yet, also will have to get Monday off for work.

This lineup is so personally good to me that Aphex actually slides somewhat in urgency. I can afford it and could go but 2 rubs: I can't figure out how my ears will hold up and I lack the bro entourage critical to such an event. How will a 37 year old forever alone survive the wash of Millenials making fun of my RDJ tears?

Same, but 38 (by then).

I'm curious about the Bjork VR stuff, but i have never tried VR and heard that if you get motion sick it lingers with you 8-10 hours where you feel terrible. I wouldn't try it unless i had the opportunity to do so after Aphex Twin.

Sounds like it'll be a few VR demo stations, probably running Oculus kits.  I'm keen to see it as some of it was made using our tech (Unreal) but I wouldn't fly to Houston for it.  I wouldn't worry about the motion sickness; that was more of an issue with the earlier dev kits when the hardware was lot less sophisticated.

Not asking you to reveal anything actual thing, but could you at least say whether this might tip a remote WATMMer who is on the fence about going into actually going?

Also, I'd like to hear more thoughts about GA versus VIP.  It gets you the Friday party, but you can get that for $110 on top of the GA ticket so that's the value of that.  And I'm not sure how much I care about a Bjork DJ set.  I'm sure RDJ won't be part of an artist meet-and-greet.  Better entry to the festival and a lounge sounds nice, but probably not worth $400.  The thing that gives me pause is the VIP viewing area at the main stage.  If it guarantees you a good spot without lots of waiting/pushing, it might be worth a lot.  Can anyone who has been before comment on that?

OK goddamn. I did the thing. If I'm honest, I mostly want to shitpost IRL with you cunts. Richard will just be playing a .WAV file and strobe light from Ireland while a roadie stands in the shadows anyway. Specifically, I was so impressed by phudoshin's willingness to come this far that it would be an embarrassment to IDM if I didn't show as well. Basically, I want to stand next to him bootlegging and join in on the "LET'S FOOKIN' HAVE IT"s.

I'm touched. You're touching me..... please don't ! ... but yeh!..... now i've to figure out the flight logistics - probably Dublin->London-Heuston-> Arrive Friday night

fuck guys everyone is going to this damn thing

I'm hoping the VIP does provide that, especially at that price.

RE: Grinning - nothing that would convince anyone else to go, just a personal joy(rex).

So we'd have to pony up $400 to tell Richard we build oscillators in Reaktor because of him? Man, SPD did it bigger, better, 9 years ago and for free to boot.

SPD was filming the poor gent who asked that fateful question... I had him grab my camera bc I was trying to take pics but it was stuck on video mode and in my stupor I could not get it to function as intended, no bother made for some historical footage. Got a signature from RDJ on orig SAW 85-92, some pictures (and some video obv) and asked him about his preferred headphones all in a quick blur. As SPD showed me last time, you don't need VIP or backstage passes to necessarily, not saying they don't hurt but anything's possible.
