Oh I'm not saying it's the ladies' fault. It had the same problems as the tech industry, at least partly because there was so much overlap between the two, when it was still alive.

 

I do hope the next weird but somewhat popular thing has a lot more females on both the producing and listening sides.

the idm cannot die, since it is not a living thing. it lives insde all of us, as an idea - a form of expression beyond human comprehension - and can only be forgotten.

It died when squarepusher didn't bother to learn the new software

imo it died when afx albums became quite good

There's tons of IDM still alive and well if you count stuff that isn't just pads and breaks fed through dblue glitch/Livecut.

OS Sierra killed it lol

Because the much superior genre: "Braindunce" replaced it.
