Oh I see, didn't realize Maddocks was DJing, I assumed he was playing live. That Icicle track isn't bad but it (and much of that type of stuff in my limited experience) is often weak on its own/doesn't really go anywhere. Will have to hunt down some mixes from Maddocks.

edit: tri good you were enjoying the set, and thanks for getting some decent recordings of what you did at least! Someone in Europe will make a good bootleg or two. :)

I've seen autechre in 2005, 2008, 2010. (To my tastes) This 2016 set is their best set and probably one of the best thing I have heard live in my life.

They seem now in total control of their machines and the sonic possibilities it offers, and confident with their own creativity. Their set varied in moods between dark psychedelic ambient, full blasts of intricated beats, loud synth dramatization, softer and subtile soundscapes etc

Here's the thing though : I wanted it to be as dark as possible, of course (and it was, nearly completely). Just like I wanted it to be 100% silent, which it also completely was. But I didn't mind the imperfections during the live, even though I'm very autistic about recordings. I naturally realized it's all part of the experience. The sound is what's most important, and as long as it kept going on nothing else mattered.

Amazing night.

Maddocks and Haswell were on point. Played some cool braindance electro/drum and bass and some noise bits respectively.

Autechre though... LET ME FUCKING TELL YOU

Exactly what superbixen said, sick electro shit mixed with electro-acoustic. The complexity of the sound design was unbelievable, I stood there smiling for a good minute just amazed, I'm not kidding.

I think they just spoke to each other once and then stared at their laptop screens for the rest of the set. I assume they used maxmsp but I can't even comprehend how they performed with that, everything sounded perfect.

The room was as dark as it could be. I tried to text my mom nearly at the end but got told off immediately, oops. I realize it was disrespectful, won't be doing that again.

The exact second their set ended Sean loudly closed his laptop and just peaced out lol no encore sadly...

I really hope they release it too, that shit was incredible.

Autechre are par excellence. This was even better than last I saw them at Grafen.

Only thing that could have topped this experience would have been wearing a butt plug that was hooked up to there laptops.
