Oh yeah I just started watching this today too. It seems pretty good, I think the premise is a little hokey but it's entertaining enough.

Two episodes in. I really like the movies Brit Marling and Zal Batmanlijg (spelling?) have done together so I was pretty excited about this show. So far it's good but it hasn't really caught me yet.

it's a bit like their film "sound of my voice" (brti marling practically plays the same character) + "the leftovers" tv show, it's not as engaging as the former and not as well acted as the latter but it's deece nevertheless. there's a feel that they actually worked their story out, there's some kind of backbone that's revealing itself gradually, and it's not like lost or other similar crap with an army of writers where it feels like they just come up with shit practically on the fly. i also like how shamelessly new agey it is, it's somewhat cheesy but also refreshing at the same time.

it is definitely cheesy but in a good way. about to start ep6. I'm digging it. some of it is quite hokey but I'm binging so who cares.

Binged it in like 2 days. Loved it for the first 5 episodes then it got increasingly worse and the ending was so bad i wanted to punch the screen.

an enjoyable stranger things for high school kids that worked for us because we got the pastiche of recognizable and beloved movies/films. that being said, i think the people who made the show might think it's on higher level than that.

anyway- i thought the best part was the parents and the threads around them. worth watching to the end. i'm curious about what folks think about the end.

I also liked this more than Stranger Things, which I couldn't get through. The interpretive dance numbers nearly killed me though.

really good show. i had to blow my nose 5 minutes into episode 2, and not due to mellow dramatic sadness, but the beauty of it... that's usually a good sign.

i didn't know they could trigger me after this scene in the east:

but now i'm shaken to my core. my very being has been violated by this foul satanic ritual masquerading as television. these people are evil. god willing they will perish in the coming hellfire.

Seen all except the last episode...

so uh yeah this series is wrapped in a thick layer of cheese but tbh it's a quite good setup which allows for a non standard narrative. It's quite refreshing yea? Also acting, writing and execution are top tier and I enjoy every second (well maybe not the dancing)
