I've just randomly come across this theory while

watching Rouge One related stuff on YouTube,

I may be late to the party on this, but I'm loving the idea.

I'm not much of a Star Wars fan really, however I know

some of you (Paps) are well into the whole SW ting.

So what are you thoughts, Jar Jar bumlord or sithlord?

Yoda was a total cum sock to begin with as well.

This theory has been all but directly confirmed:

The JJB voice-actor said (immediately after the theory was initially posted to reddit) essentially 'yup'

And Lucas himself said (about the prequel trilogy): 'Jar Jar is the key to all of this'

Also Lucas said the plot/script for the 3rd movie was radically altered due to fan backlash

So I think it's very clearly what was intended

Jar Jar could be a secret agent with a sabotage mission to implement the dark side in Anakin's childish mind.

Not sure how he could have achieved that with such a limited IQ tho - or is it the reason why Sith lords chose him to perform that task ?
