Are you not inferring that the authorities should have done something prior to the incident? Do you think just going down to these people and having a little tickle fight with them would have gotten them to stop?

I'm not disagreeing with the difference response (the after the fact response or some Capitol police helping with barricades and taking selfies etc.), I'm talking about going through due process beforehand to prevent this.

One thing is for sure though, the US legislative response to this will be guaranteed to give more power to law enforcement.

Good job that only four people got shot. The security personnel seems to be well trained otherwise more would have died.

I personally only have a limited contingent of compassion to give and I save it for people who deserve it more.

I think you're giving way too much credit to the capacity and capability of local law enforcement agencies. But yes there's also the likelihood that local law enforcement agencies (especially in rural areas) have strong ties with these individuals....

They should put some of these terrorists into Guantanamo to torture them and see if they have more information. They got way closer to do serious damage than most Al Qaida or other Islamist terrorists. Since the US is all about antiterrorism and inner security that would be the logical path.

How is that evidence they were going to storm the Capitol building?

Everyone knew there were going to be protests for sure. Storming the Capitol building and looking for hostages (the guys with the zip-tie handcuffs)? I don't think so.

The shirts could have been investigated. That message seems to suggest sedition to me, maybe criminal conspiracy. 

You can only say "that'll never hold up" in court so many times before people lose faith in the court. Then what? Are we missing a classification of crimes here? Are we just going to wait out the clock on domestic terrorism until they do some real damage? Until vigilantes take justice into their own hands?
