A little something for you on this day of bocness

Recommended Posts

Nice, tastefully done.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

-organized confused project

really well done. this track, the original not your remix, reminds me of twin peaks for some reason. anyone else pick up that vibe?

Thats an awesome piece. A bit distorted on the deep bass but maybe you intended that.

Excellent work. Should have done this instead of the Odd Nosdam!

Guest Raddcliff

very nice variation. nicely done. yes this should have replaced the nosmix

[your levels are blown out a bit. can you repost with the levels on your part dropped a bit. that would make it perfect. digital saturation doesnt werk...clipping is a bitch. long live tape]

thanks for sharing.

this is great.

this sounds like an airplane landing on a minefield

I'll be honest...hated the first minute and a half because it was pretty much doing the whole mash-up idea...which Jay-Z ruined sometime in 2004.

But once the beat kicked in, I almost wet myself. Much better than the Nosdam remix...kinda has the same feel, but it doesn't outstay its welcome like the Dayvan mix.

...lets have babies

ehh why is this so fucking great? i certainly didn't wet myself like some of you ppl around here.

how is this better than nosdam's dayvan cowboy remix?

i just hear a lame, non-flowing and non-changing cookiecutter beat (the beat has no groove at all) with some cheap plastic preset-sounding (clipped even) synths playing that 'under the coke sign'-melody, LOOPED for a few minutes....?!

seriously, this is pretty fucking pathetic, especially considering the music that mr modular posted here previously ;))

well, fanboyism works in mysterious ways, i guess

I believe you just described boc

no.

listen closer.

their music is/was thick, lush, densely layered psychedelica, with unusual and twisted timbres, that was tweaked to perfection with an almost unreal soundquality and attention to detail.. it seems simple at first, but once you really start paying attention, its so intricate and detailled.. music to get lost in..

unlike this boc parody (which it is, right? RIGHT?!?!?!? :))

(just compare In The Annexe & Julie And Candy with this track... yeah, thats what i mean)

It was a joke, yeah? But since you're going down the serious route: Does every boc track match the quality of those two tracks? What kind of preset-synths are you supposedly hearing? And saying that the beat has no groove is beyond me.. And no synths are clipping.

I think it's a nice composition but I also think your added part is a bit louder than the first part.. would be better if the volume difference wasn't *that* noticeable.

But good job anyways dude!

well, no, the newer music that boc released can't match the quality of geogaddi.. by far.. geogaddi was just so coherent and 'finished'.. i've heard that album over 200 times and i still keep discovering more and more details in the sound... one of those albums that you can just put on, turn your soundsystem up to >90db, and GET IN THERE, you know... it was a monumental piece of storytelling, unlike this 'feelgood', superficial 'TCH' shit... and sounddesign-wise it (geogaddi) is just stunning, with such a BIZARRE attention to detail..

and about yr remix/pisstake... those 'preset-sounding synths' that come in at 2:00 (those resonant sweeping pads) aren't really presets ofcourse; unless you were REALLY taking the piss:) but they sound so generic and plastic, not like the ultra-tweaked, processed-till-perfection pads on geogaddi, for example.. you know, there is no depth to it... it sounds too clean, too predictable and too generic to be really interesting.. and i do hear clipping/distortion from 3:03 onwards (especially at 3:20), although that's probably intentional.. plus about the groove of the percussion; it feels just 'off', and 'cold', it doesn't flow like those simple but ultra-detailed boc-grooves do... but whatæver.. this is all subjective and if people like this pisstake track and if it makes them wet their pants or some shit, well thats great, it must be great to live your life with low expectations and wet your pants over any music thats marginally better than banging some rock against a wall.. and i really mean that, thats no sarcasm..

Well, it is what it is. Either you like it or you don't, I can't be arsed to get anal over it.

too bad :)

now excuse me while i get the hell out of this subforum, before the drooling hordes of boc-fanboys trap me, assimilate me, and wash my brains, effectively reducing my iq to one of the common values around here: somewhere between 10 and 60..
