Album recommendations for an LSD peak

Any of the In The Nursery soundtrack series are recommended, Man With a Movie Camera being one I've tripped to before, just maybe download it and avoid the visuals. Same for all the ITN film works.

ps - their Les Jumeaux alias is more beat driven but just as beautiful and melodic

YES, especially that first one, Magick Brother, but really all of it.

If we're going back to stuff that came out of the weird BYG Actuel fringe jazz stable, Ame Son would probably be a good choice too (and are generally great).

I haven't taken anything psychedelic in years but when I did I could never get in to listening to music with a steady beat, it just felt bad to me.  Music in general was always dicey because it made it too easy to keep track of time, and time seems pretty irrelevant and distracting under those circumstances.

I'd go with The Pod, myself.

Squarepusher - Gong Acid. Terribly under appreciated track. Fantastic on acid.

I am all for listening to weird idm shit on dissociatives though. O Boi.

But to specify, not super complex rhythmic stuff. Textural ambient soundscape stuff.

Why not? I've spent the last 10 or so years tripping on "super complex rhythmic stuff" and enjoying every second of it...?

I'm hardly a closed minded nun. Remember, I'm on a fucking IDM forum.... an IDM forum.. Think about that for a second before claiming people are closed minded nuns.

here's some options depending on mood:

Frank Zappa - "You are what you is".  also, "Apostrophe/Overnight Sensation"

Miles Davis/bill Laswell - "Panthallassa -the music of miles davis"

Funckadelic "Standing on the Verge of Getting it On"

Phoenecia "Brown Out" or "Demissions"

DJ Shadow -"Endtroducing"
