Something AFX happening on NTS

Recommended Posts

Pretty sure the phix wouldn't release an album and only press 500 of it and only make it available at one of his live sets.

This is a nice little bonus ep but nothing else, and agreed RE cut/polish. Weird argument. Can't see how anyone would think otherwise.

Nah, you're a wee child who can't wait for official release. Embarrassing. Shove your privilege.

 outtakes from the Syro-era sessions.

There are similarities to the Txx tracks, which were made from ca 2014 and on. Quadraverbs, detuning and all that. He said he had a bunch of those, didn't he?

These seem like a more recent equivalent of his soundcloud dump tracks. Intimate noodlings that won't ever make it on a proper release, but deserve to be heard. Some of his most interesting tracks on on here.

The final track sounds almost SAW II-ish. No point speculating when these were made. They could be a collection of all sorts of things.

Bubba, agreed!

psn, kirm, perhaps post-Syro stuff, for sure. My guess that it's from Syro-era is only based on three things:

1. General feel and sounds could be from that era, but okay they could be from anytime (A5!)

2. Chartreuse artwork.

3. A3 has similarities (to my ear) to Last Rushup 10 and maybe to 4 bit.

I'll be curious to hear when they're all from if he ever does talk about that.

The Chartreuse sleeve is as good an indicator as we have, I'll give you that. The rest is guess work.

there's got to be a pre-stream copy they could put up!

it would be a shame if posterity only gets the mangled copy after they went to all the trouble to capture it, just because no one bothered to ask for the file and switch it on youtube

Some of these Field Day LP tracks do feel like demos, but then again so does certain parts of his last few EP's.

I'd be surprised if all these tracks see the light of day. He said on soundcloud that he has no plans to release the Day for Night record, and mentioned "as well as the other one's planned". That was a while ago though, he could have changed the course to hype a new record. Maybe certain songs are unmastered early tracks from his new LP, and the rest is unused bonus material.

What if that countdown is for the opening of the AFX bleep store + an exclusive EP? July 6th is on a Thursday and the AE bleep store as well as elseq came out on a Thursday

This is what I reckon. ODS and Cheetah were announced on Thursdays too, if that means anything?

You mean, other than perhaps someone in the AFX camp liking the colour?

Oh shit. Richard hopped on Soundcloud to say he is going to re upload the Field Day show from different audio sources etc. A clean version is on the waaaay :)

Interesting, he also commented on some of his gear. How are you supposed to use MSP live?

Ask autechre. Their entire live set is based around it.

Yeah, he mentioned a potential Txx EP on SC.

Yeah but I don't see why Warp would bother opening a warp.net subdomain for a bleep store ? (and yeah I know that Bleep is a Warp thing and I can see why Aphex would get such a special treatment but anyway it just seems weird).

Soundboards would be awesome but reading his SC message I had the feeling that was something HE wanted to do rather than something planned by Warp.

So yeah my guess is a new release or exclusive internet live show or something like that :)

More importantly how or why would you not be able to use Max live ?! Hell even I've used it live and I'm a big dum dum....

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

I'm sure that someone has said this before, but surely someone involved in this recording has a non-studdering version of this set? It's kinda annoying, upon revisits that it glitches and loses the fucking tempo every two minutes. It was tolerable initially given that they were live-streaming the original thing to thousands or tens of thousands of computers across the world at that moment, but for posterity's sake, a non-studdery version is morally obligatory. Think of the children!
